Treatment for Teens (Ages 12-17)
As a parent, you want what’s best for your child. Lightfully recognizes the significant impact of COVID on young people’s mental health and the importance of providing education, care and support they need. Our teen mental health care programming offers primary mental health treatment for all genders ages 12 to 17 dealing with the increased prevalence of mood disorder, anxiety disorder, or trauma-related disorder — or experiencing chronic suicidality and/or self-harm. Through our personalized approach that is tailored to your child’s needs, we’ll guide you and your child every step of the way.
How We’ll Care for Your Teen
Our innovative clinical model centered on process-based therapy is well-positioned to address teens’ mental health needs. Using DNA-V, we engage young clients, harness their strengths, and help them build lifelong skills on their journey to sustained wellbeing. Through our Equip Training Program, our compassionate clinicians are trained in Safe & Sound Protocol and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy to help your teen not just live, but thrive in their home, academic, & social environment.
Family Involvement
We believe families light the way toward healing at Lightfully! Our approach to teen mental health treatment welcomes and embraces family members as integral components to their child’s healing, not as causes or contributors to their child’s struggles. We know that teens do better when family members are richly involved in their care. With that in mind, Lightfully provides multiple therapeutic opportunities for families to be involved in their child’s care, including structured family therapy sessions, psychoeducation, and support groups. We equip families with skills for success while their child is in treatment at Lightfully and beyond! At Lightfully, we don’t just change clients’ lives, compassionately—we aim to compassionately change the lives of families, as well.
School During Treatment
Difficulty concentrating, inability to focus, decreased motivation toward attendance and assignments—these are just a few of the ways mental health struggles can negatively impact a young person’s education. Lightfully believes teens with mental health struggles should not have to fall behind in school to get the help they need. With certified teachers at multiple levels of care, the Lightfully model allows teens to attend treatment while continuing their education. Your teen will gain skills to successfully confront educational roadblocks related to their mental health and will build self-efficacy and confidence toward their future.
