Outpatient Programs at Lightfully Teen

If you’re a teenager, there are many problems that you may struggle with that impacts your mental health, from school stress and college applications to family struggles and self-esteem issues. There are also several mental health disorders that are often diagnosed in adolescence, such as generalized anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder.

When you need support with your mental health, outpatient programs can help you look at your problems from every angle by talking with a professional. Then, you can return home to immediately implement your adjusted mindset and incorporate coping skills into your everyday routines.

What Are Outpatient Programs for Teens?

Outpatient programs are non-Residential Treatment options, which means that you receive mental health care services during the day, then return to your own residence afterward. This allows you to receive the help you need while still maintaining privacy, freedom and emotional support from your loved ones.

Outpatient programs center on various types of psychotherapy, or “talk therapy.” Depending on your needs and symptoms, this could include:

  • Counseling with mental health professionals
  • Psychiatrist sessions
  • Group therapy
  • Medical consultations

What Are the Outpatient Programs at Lightfully Teen?

Our outpatient programs help you learn the skills you need to progress on your mental health journey in a comfortable, nonjudgmental environment. Then you can return home with improved skills and coping mechanisms that will continue to benefit you in the future.

At Lighfully Teen, we offer two outpatient programs: a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The program that you are placed in will depend on the severity of your symptoms.

Partial Hospitalization is the highest level of care that a teen can receive in an outpatient facility, as it’s one step below Residential Treatment. PHP provides a full day of structured mental and behavioral health care support. At Lightfully Teen, PHP can last between six and eight weeks, with programming being held five to seven days a week.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is for teens who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health disorder symptoms that need a bit more care beyond weekly or biweekly therapy sessions. At Lightfully Teen, IOP can last between six and eight weeks, with programming being held three to five days a week.

Lightfully Behavioral Health Offers Outpatient Programs for Teens

You are more than just your diagnosis. You are also a family member, student, friend — maybe even a teammate or artist. That’s why our outpatient programs ensure that your whole person is treated at Lightfully Teen, not just your mental health disorder. We use process-based therapy to make sure that treatment goes beyond the diagnosis.

Process-based therapy is integrated into outpatient programs so that you get a personalized treatment that will explore every facet of who you are, from relationships to goal setting, and determine how those influence your overall well-being.
