When Lyra insurance members should explore mental health treatment options

We all experience everyday stressors and life challenges that can impact our mental health. Employment changes, relationship issues and family problems can all affect your mental health and well-being. Not everyone requires professional mental health treatment, as many of these concerns are temporary.

If you’re experiencing consistent or worsening mental distress and mental disorder symptoms that interfere with your quality of life, then it’s time to explore mental health treatment options. Mental disorders are the main reasons why people seek professional help. That includes diagnoses of:

  • Generalized anxiety disorder
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder
  • Major depressive disorder
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Personality disorders
  • Suicidality and/or self-harm behaviors

Here are some signs that it’s time for Lyra insurance members to seek mental health treatment:

  • Your mental distress and symptoms are interfering with your everyday responsibilities.
  • You’re having trouble forming and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships.
  • You’re unable to manage your disorder symptoms on your own.
  • You’re at risk for harm to yourself or others.

4 mental health treatment options we have for Lyra insurance members

Everyone’s mental health and disorder symptoms are different. That’s why it’s important that Lyra insurance members have access to every level of care. Your mental health provider can help you determine which treatment program will work best for you based on the severity of your symptoms. The goal of every treatment option is to provide you with the support and tools you need to manage your mental health symptoms that are interfering with your well-being.

Here are four levels of care that Lightfully Behavioral Health has that can help Lyra insurance members on their mental health journey:

  • Residential Treatment — After a mental health crisis, it’s a good idea to be admitted into a facility that offers 24/7 behavioral support. A Residential Treatment Center, or RTC, allows you to focus on your mental health. It takes place in a safe, home-like environment. Stays last for approximately a month. Lyra insurance members have schedules that include daily group sessions, yoga and weekly outings to practice their new skills.
  • Partial Hospitalization Program — If you’re looking for structured programming following a mental health crisis that provides the flexibility to go home each night, then the Partial Hospitalization Program, or PHP, is what you’re looking for. This is also called our Day Treatment Program. You can receive mental health treatment and behavioral support through day programs. Then you can return home to immediately integrate the skills you learned into your daily lifestyle.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program — Lyra insurance members can find the support and mental health treatment they need in our IOP’s comprehensive evidence-based treatment program. This level of care is ideal for people who are transferring from higher levels of care such as inpatient care, PHP or RTC. It can help alleviate your mental health distress and disorder symptoms without 24/7 supervision.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program — If your schedule or particular needs make it difficult to get in-person outpatient care, then you should consider our vIOP option. You can gain the mental health support you need by maintaining your autonomy. You can participate in daily programming, including individual therapy, group therapy and family sessions from the convenience of a webcam on your phone or laptop.
